Information filed by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:
WARRANT: While conducting routine traffic patrol in the area of Miami Avenue and Edgar Drive a deputy observed a green Kia Soul traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. The deputy activated my radar and found the vehicle to be traveling 63 mph in a 35 mph zone. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver. After further investigation, the driver was taken into custody on a felony warrant out of Tennessee. The driver was also charged with excessive speeding and drug paraphernalia. The female’s custody was turned over to Miami County Jail staff and the evidence was booked into the property room.
THEFT: A deputy responded to Joe Johnson dealership in reference to theft of tires. This incident is under investigation.
CRIMINAL DAMAGING: A deputy responded to a complaint of criminal damaging in the 6000 block of South Shiloh Road, Union Twp. After further investigation the homeowner did not want charges pressed, and only wanted the incident reported.
HOMEMADE MOTORCYCLES: A deputy observed two small motorcycles traveling south on State Rte 202 approaching E. Tipp-Elizabeth Road. The motorcycles were traveling at a much slower rate than the rest of traffic and did not appear to have any visible registration. A traffic stop was made and the two drivers were warned for their infractions. They called for a ride which picked them and the homemade motorcycles up.
ACCIDENT: The reporting party called 911 to report that a 26-year-old male had accidentally shot himself in the leg in the 9700 block West State Route 571, Union Twp. The reporting party told dispatch that “someone” was driving the victim to the hospital instead of waiting for the squad. Dispatch reported that the caller disconnected before they could learn to which hospital they were going. The deputy learned the victim was being transported by a friend to Upper Valley Medical Center.
TRESPASSING: Deputies responded to the 5100 block of Peters Road in reference to a male refusing to leave. After investigation, Wynston Younce was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
FRAUD: The reporting party advised someone had opened a account in his name through PayPal. He advised they have charged $1,154.79. He is currently working with the fraud department from PayPal and they advised him to make a report with his local police agency. He requested for this incident to be documented for further investigation from PayPal.
OVERDOSE: A deputy was dispatched to the 4600 block of Orbison Road, Staunton Twp., on an assist squad call. A female at the residence had possibly overdosed on an unknown drug. The female was transported to a hospital by Troy EMS. Items located at the scene will be submitted to the crime lab for drug analysis.
JAIL ASSAULT: A deputy responded to a possible assault at the Miami County Jail. After speaking with jail staff it, was determined to be disorderly conduct from a male inmate. At the conclusion of the call, the male inmate was charged with disorderly conduct.
TRESPASSING: A deputy was dispatched on an assist agency call. After further investigation, James Davis was cited for trespassing at Martin Marietta Aggregates on Dye Mill Road in Troy.
