Rice receives White Coat at Marietta

MARIETTA — Marietta College’s Mackenzie Rice, of Troy, was one of 37 members of the Physician Assistant Studies Program to participate in the annual White Coat ceremony on Oct. 21.

The ceremony marked a day of transition for the PA students as they progressed from being students to being officially welcomed into the PA profession, marking an important step on their journey toward becoming certified physician assistants.

Rice is scheduled to graduate in July 2019.

Casner joins philosphy club

ASHLAND — Nicole Casner of Fletcher is a member of the philosophy club at Ashland University. Casner is majoring in nursing.

She is the daughter of Jonathan and Gloria Casner of Fletcher, and a 2014 graduate of Bethel High School.

Students perform with UF band

FINDLAY — Members of the University of Findlay’s Marching Oiler Brass recently performed in a “Sounds of the Stadium” concert on Oct. 29. The concert featured stadium tunes performed on the field. Songs included music from “Pirates of the Caribbean” and more. The band is directed by Richard Napierala.

Local students include Lindsay Fries of New Carlisle and Jessica Weeks of Pleasant Hill.
