Aug. 9

Kentucky Fried Chicken, 21 S. Stanfield Road, Troy — Critical violation: Equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are dirty. Observed mold in the inside of the ice machine towards the top of bin. The physical facilities are not being maintained in good repair. Observed ice accumulation on the piping of the walk-in freezer.

Aug. 10

Bowman & Landes Turkey Farm, 6490 E. Ross Road, New Carlisle — Critical violation: at the time of inspection, small containers of coleslaw, potato salad, and pasta salad were observed without date markings in the deli prep cooler. The salads in the consumer self-service cooler were observed without labels. In the deli area, a noncommercial microwave was observed. Ensure the different types of cheeses are also properly labeled. Also, ensure the fan covers in the walk-in cooler are frequently cleaned and the light bulbs are shatter-proof.

Piqua Country Club Snack Bar, 9612 Country Club Road, Piqua — Critical violation: at the time of inspection, the soda fountain nozzles were observed with syrup build-up. Only observed prepackaged food items being sold. The person-in-charge did state hot dogs and pretzels are prepared on site on the weekends. Also, the person-in-charge stated food is delivered from main kitchen. All multi-use utensils, plates, etc. are taken back to kitchen to be cleaned and sanitized.

Troy Eagles, 225 N. Elm St., Troy — The FSO did not have a person in charge that had completed a Level One Certification course. Observed food in packaging that does not appear to protect it from contamination. Observed dented cans in back storage area, corrected during inspection. Critical violation: refrigerated, ready-to-eat, TCS foods held refrigerated for more than 24 hours were not properly date marked. Observed mushroom gravy inside of fridge that was more than seven days past it’s date marking label, corrected during inspection. Observed the use of single-use articles made of non-food grade materials. Observed tomato sauce/soup stored in ice cream container in walk-in freezer. Critical violation: equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are dirty. Observed mold inside front corner of ice machine, where ice was touching. Repeat observation: observed no hand washing sign posted at the bar hand washing sink. Observed tile above the fridge in back storage area that was bowing downwards.
