Tipp artist displaying works

DAYTON — A Tipp City polymer clay artist, Lilian Nichols — known as Lily Designs — has her work on display and sale at Fifth Third Gallery in Dayton for the month of June.

Nichols has worked with polymer clay for more than 28 years, and teaches polymer clay classes in Tipp City.

Featured in the exhibit are earrings, pins, pendants and necklaces. A trunk show is planned for Thursday and Friday, June 15 and 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The gallery is located at 1 S. Main St., Dayton, and has a parking garage. The hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Y taking sign-ups for summer programs

MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County YMCA will be taking registrations for summer session classes beginning Monday, June 12 for members and Thursday, June 15 for nonmembers. Classes will begin June 19, and last for seven weeks. This session includes many recreation and fitness options such as swim lessons, group exercise, gymnastics, youth sports and more.

The Y will be taking online registrations at its website To do so, a participant must first register his or her email at the main desk. They can then go online, log in and register for their chosen classes. Registrations will also still be accepted at the desks and over the phone. Genealogy classes offered at Hayner

TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will offer genealogy classes in its June schedule.

Researching Genealogy & History with Offline Sources with Instructor Judy Deeter is for students age 12 to adult. The fee for this class that will meet for two consecutive Thursdays, on June 15 and 22 from 7-8 pm is $25. There are many details about the lives of our ancestors that can only be found offline in libraries, museums and public agencies. This class provides information about where and how to find offline sources, with emphasis on courthouse and end-of-life records.
