BEAVERCREEK — The Versailles boys and girls bowling teams advanced to next week’s Division II state tournament during the district tournament Thursday at Beaver-Vu Lanes.

The boys got the fourth and final spot with a 4.127 score.

Versailles was led by Kyle Cotner, who finished fourth overall with a 690 series on games of 221, 225 and 244.

Other Versailles scores were Luke Shellhaas 233-190-203—626, Jacob Wenig 188-204-207—599, Brody Hyre 212-215-155—582 and Alex Groff 210-154-154—548.

Russia’s Nicholas Bohman had an outstanding career end with games of 244, 206 and 185 for a 635 series.

In the girls competition, Versailles got the third and final team spot for state with a 3,820 total.

Hannah Niekamp led the Lady Tigers, finishing seventh overall with a 639 series on games of 228, 197 and 214.

Other Versailles scores were Olivia Bruening 188-195-205—588, Brigette Holsapple 179-212-191—585, Morgan Heitkamp 152-179-189—520 and Maggie Hedrick 170-147.

Russia girls had their season end with a ninth-place finish with a 3,296 score.

Lady Raiders scores included Anna Bohman 164-201-193—558, Destiny Osborne 131-192-223—546, Audrey Voisard 119-215, Rebecca Osborne 159-146 and Audrey Gariety 174.

Beaty advances

to D-I district

DAYTON — Piqua senior LeAnn Beaty advanced to district for the second straight season during the sectional tournament at Poelking South Lanes Thursday.

Beaty rolled games of 167, 143 and 210 for a 510 series.

Piqua finished 14th as a team with a 3,296 score

Other Lady Indian scores were Rayna Brownlee 112-192-185—489, Sarah Ganger 152-164-163—479, Whitney Biddle 187-109-148—444, Ariel Miller 119-134 and Kyra Buchanan 124.
