Lehman girls basketball team gets home win

The Lehman girls basketball team cruised to a 50-29 win over Riverside Thursday in NWCC action.

Alanna O’Leary led Lehman with 11 points and three steals, while Hannah Fogt had eight points and five rebounds.

CASSTOWN — Miami East got off to a fast start against Ansonia Thursday, jumping out to a 24-12 first quarter lead, and winning the game by a score of 70-47.

The Vikings were led by Haley Howard who finished the game with a double-double, by scoring 26 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Megan Thompson added 13 points and three assists, and Morgan Haney had 12 points and five assists. Kyndall Hellyer also grabbed seven rebounds in the game.

They Lady Vikings improve to 8-5 on the year and 5-1 in the CCC They travel to Tri Village Saturday for a big game in the CCC.

Newton girls

LEWISBURG — The Newton girls basketball team blasted Tri-County North 63-23 in CCC action Thursday.

The Lady Indians, 8-4, got a big game from Madison Mollette, who finished with 27 points.

Loramie girls

edge Houston

FORT LORAMIE — Fort Loramie outscored Houston 14-9 in the overtime to survive an upset bid and pull out a 43-38 victory in County play Thursday.

The Lady Redskins are now 4-1 in the County and 8-2 overall. Houston, which lost by just three to unbeaten Sidney Monday, is now 3-3 in the league and 5-9 overall.

The Lady Redskins had to rally to send the game to overtime, trailing the Lady Wildcats by five after three quarters.

For Houston, Jenna Winner had 17 points and seven rebounds.

Russia handles

Botkins girls

RUSSIA — Russia held Botkins without a point in the second quarter and that was enough in a 51-33 victory for the Lady Raiders Thursday at home.

Russia’s fourth straight win put the Lady Raiders at 3-3 in the league and 7-6 overall. Botkins, which had won four of its last five, dropped to 1-5 in the league and 7-6 overall.

Tiffany Hatcher sank four three-pointers on her way to 16 points, and Cameo Wilson added 14.

ST. HENRY — The Versailles girls basketball team picked up a 69-36 win over St. Henry in MAC action Thursday.

Lauren Monnin scored 23 points and Kami McEldowney added 13.
