Edison teams split two games

SPRINGFIELD — The Edison Community College men’s basketball team picked a 90-71 win over Clark State Wednesday.

Cody May led four Charger scorers with more than 20 points, scoring 27 and pulling down 16 rebounds.

Chris Landrum had 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Malik Thurman added 24 points and seven rebounds.

Jalen Hearn scored 21 points for the Chargers.

Edison led 37-28 at halftime and used a 53-point second half to put the game away.

Edison was 39 of 77 from the floor for 51 percent — including seven of 15 from behind the arc for 47 percent.

The Chargers were 19 of 22 from the line for 87 percent.

Clark State was 29 of 68 from the floor for 43 percent — including five of 15 from 3-point range for 33 percent.

The Eagles made eight of 14 free throws for 57 percent.

Edison won the battle of the boards 40-34 and had two turnovers to Clark State’s 14.

SPRINGFIELD — The Edison Community College women’s basketball team lost 82-76 in overtime to Clark State.

Sydney Miller led a balanced attack for the Lady Chargers with 19 points.

Brooke Hickey scored 18, while Brooke Dunlevy and Carly Buzzard both netted 17.
