Lehman tennis fundraiser at Chipotle Monday; WPTW to air games; Bradford boys lose; Covington JH wrestlers advance to state

The Lehman Catholic boys tennis program will be hosting a fundraiser at Sidney Chipotle on Monday night from 5-9 p.m. The program will receive 33 percent of all orders.

air games

WPTW will air both the Piqua and Sidney D-I boys basketall sectional tournament games this weekend.

Piqua plays Centerville at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Trotwood-Madison, while Sidney plays Carroll at the Butler High School SAC at 8 p.m. Saturday night.

Bradford boys

lose to Parkway

The Bradford boys basketball team will open Piqua D-IV sectional tournament play at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 against the Jackson Center-Triad winner.

Bradford, 0-22, closed the regular season with an 80-18 loss to Parkway Monday night.

A number of Covington wrestlers competed in the Ohio Athletic Committee (OAC) Junior High District tournaments the past two weekends in weight classes with up to 32-person brackets.

Five Covington wrestlers placed in the top-6 to qualify for the state championships in Youngstown.

Out of the Vandalia-Butler district, Carson Taylor (74 pounds) placed second, Michael Hagan (78) placed fifth and Kamden Hughes (102) placed third.

Jericho Quinter (90) placed third at the Oregon Clay district, while Chase Vanderhorst (102) placed second at the Olentangy district.

Also competing and winning matches for the Buccs at the events were Dalton Bishop (78), Banks Koffer (110) and Aaron Jackson (114).
