HAMILTON — The Edison State basketball teams have a big game at Sinclair Wednesday.
Both teams improved to 6-1 with wins over Miami University Hamilton Saturday.
The Edison State men led 34-32 at halftime, before pulling away in the second half.
Lacey Watson had another big game for Edison with 26 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Josh Young scored 15 points, while Lamine Komara had 15 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots.
Jaedyn Carter added 10 points and three steals, Caleb Maggard grabbed seven rebounds and Dakota Prichard pulled down five.
Edison was 29 of 74 from the floor for 39 percent, including nine of 27 from behind the arc for 33 percent. The Chargers converted nine of 16 free throws for 56 percent. Edison had 44 rebounds and 114 turnovers.
The Edison State women opened a 24-5 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 79-30 victory.
Edison led 38-19 at halftime and 59-26 after three quarters.
Clair Schmitmeyer filled out the stat sheet with 16 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Sarah Bergman had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Lauryn Gray had 12 points and six rebounds.
Kailani Broyles had 12 points and four steals, while Kaylesha Broyles grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists.
Kennedie Reese had five rebounds and four assists, while Rebekah New also grabbed five rebounds.
Edison State was 36 of 81 from the floor for 44 percent, including missing all 12 of its 3-point attempts. The Lady Chargers made seven of 19 free throws for 37 percent.
Edison had 62 rebounds and 24 turnovers.
