The Edison State women’s basketball team had a home scrimmage with Wilberforce Saturday.

The Lady Chargers will open the season Nov. 1 at the Rio Grande JVs.

They have scrimmages at Owens Community College Oct. 20 and at home with the University of Northwestern Ohio on Oct. 25.

The Edison State men’s basketball team had its Meet the Team Night intrasquad scrimmage Saturday.

They have home scrimmages with Indiana Elite Oct. 20 and Indiana University East Oct. 23, before opening the season at Rio Grande JVs on Nov. 1.

Lady Chargers

go to 18-6

The Edison State Community College volleyball team, 18-6, will play at Miami University Hamilton Wednesday.

The Lady Chargers avenged an earlier loss, defeating Heidelberg JVs 25-23, 25-23, 25-12 Friday and picked up a forfeit win against Hocking Saturday.

Against Heidelberg, Vanessa Winner pounded 16 kills and had 11 digs.

Miranda Hickey had seven kills and five blocks, Aime Powell had seven kills and Cali Stewart added six kills.

Noel Ufferman dished out 35 assists and had 18 digs.

Whitney Pleiman led the defense with 28 digs.

Camille Odle had 15 digs and Kelsey Peters added 12.
