Piqua youth soccer Standout Kamryn Mikolajewski was recently selected to the Ohio South Olympic Development Program state team.
The daughter of Joe and Holly Mikoajewski is a sixth grade student at Piqua Central Intermediate School. She plays club soccer for Celtic White out of Beavercreek.
The selection process started back in November and after advancing through state pool tryouts, the ODP district festival, and state pool training. She was selected to the state team which consists of the top players from Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
The Olympic Development Program is a national, regional, state, and district team identification and development program for high level players.
In addition it also serves as a recruiting hotbed for college coaches. Players are selected on the basis of open tryouts and invitations. These tryouts are conducted by state association coaches who are recognized for their ability to identify and train players with superior skills. Players are evaluated on technique, tactical understanding of the game, fitness and athletic ability, and attitude.
