Staff Reports

On Saturday night, Becca Stiefel of Stif Racing kicked off the 2018 season at Waynesfield Raceway Park with a seventh-place finish in the feature race.

She began the night by starting on the pole of heat number two.

In the heat, Stiefel would find the setup not right on but would battle with the leaders to bring it across the line in third place.

With that finish and the inversion she would start the “A” main from inside row two.

In the feature Stiefel would get shuffled back on the start with her Dick Lumpkin’s Auto Body, GK ELectric, Mark Knupp Muffler and Tire, KB Machine and Tool Advocare, AMSOIL, Stiefel’s Home and Auto LLC, JandT Photos, Merit Mechanical sponsored mini sprint and settle into ninth place.

Stiefel would avoid a couple of on track accidents and bring it home in one piece in seventh place.

“After being off for a year, I’m knocking off the rust as is my crew and the car was good there in the feature but we just got to find a little more,” Stiefels said. “But all in all, it was a good night and most of all we had fun which is what we are here to do.”

Stiefel returns to Waynesfield Raceway Park on May 5, with hot laps scheduled for 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
