The 27th Annual Dick Minnich Charity Golf Classic will be held Aug.t 11 at Shelby Oaks Golf Course in Sidney.
The tournament has raised over $100,000 in its history for various programs that benefit the youth of Covington including the Covington Schools Scholarship Fund and the PLUS organization.
The Dick Minnich Classic is an 11 a.m. shotgun start, and each golfer is automatically entered to win numerous door prizes including a set of golf clubs valued at $,1000. Gail Brandewie was low putts with 15, while Joyce Catron and Judy Williams tied for second with 16.
Last week, the team of Sandy Finkes, Kathie Huemmer and Linnea Thomas won the ABC scramble in the Ladies League with a 32, while the trio of Kathie Isenhouer, Judy Hornbeck and Linda Willis was second with 35.
The Lehman Catholic high school cheerleaders will be offering the Junior Cavs Cheerleading Program to girls in grades K-6 for the 2015-16 school year. This program gives an opportunity to attend a one-day clinic on Aug. 7 at Lehman from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., perform at a home varsity football game on Oct. 23 and perform in the Sidney Winter Wonderland Parade.
The cost is $35, which includes the summer camp fee, a Junior Cavs t-shirt, home varsity football game admission, and entry to the Sidney Winter Wonderland Parade.
