WEBSTER — Newton boys finished second in the Cross County Conference golf tournament Thursday at Stillwater Valley Golf Course, while Covington’s Andrew Slusher finished second in the Player of the Year standings/
Arcanum won the tournament with a 344 total, while Newton finished second with 351.
Miami East was seventh with 363, Bradford was 10th with 430 and Covington was 11th with 453.
Twin Valley South’s Nathan Osborne was medalist with a 72 and won Player of the Year honors with 239 points.
Slusher was second with 231, Alex Swabb of Bradford was third with 227.5, Dylan Martinez of Miami East was fourth with 223.5 and Chet Jamison of Newton was fifth with 219.5
Newton’s scores Thursday included Grant Bayer 85, Chet Jamison 86, Milan Bess 86, Garrett Peters 94, Drew Thiesing 98 and Nate Zielinski 104.
Miami East’s scores included Martinez 85, Walker Henley 86, Zac Johnson 94, Jack Runner 98, Luke Gilliland 105 and Cooper Elleman 111.
Bradford’s scores included Swabb 80, Hayden Dickerson 101, Isaiah Painter 110, Eric Sanders 139 and Brayden Sanders 188,
Covington’s scores included Slusher 83, Dylan Lucas 117, Jack Shell 123, Hunter Alexander 130, Derek McCool 135 and Thomas Kuether 135.
In the girls competition, Miami East finished third with 347 and Covington finished fourth with 352.
Miami East scores included Maggie Bergman 99, Emily Rowley 115, Marissa Kearns 115, Paige Lawson 118, Kearsten Kirby 127 and Maci Krites 130.
Covington scores included Addison Metz 96, Kelsey McReynolds 111, Megan Alexander 117, Emily Hedrick 128, Noelle Gast 133 and Emily Thompson 151.
