To the Editor:
We would like to thank everyone who helped to make the Third Annual Mainstreet Piqua Downtown Piqua Holiday Horse Parade a huge success.
Thank you first of all to the City of Piqua. An event like this takes a tremendous amount of logistical support, so we would like to thank the City of Piqua Street Department, Public Works Department and the Piqua Police Department. Their tireless efforts ensured that the parade went smoothly and safely for everyone.
We would also like to thank our sponsors: Miami County Visitors & Convention Bureau, Kettering Health Network, Best One Tire, Family Farm and Home store, Buffalo Wings and Rings, Mr. Roger Beaver, Prestige Builders, Loyal and Lindsey Davis, Premiere Health, Brookdale Senior Living, Asher’s Plumbing, Polysource, Alvetro Orthodontics, Sunset Drive-Thru and Unity National Bank. Without their financial support, we simply could not stage an event like this for the Piqua community.
We also appreciate our in-kind sponsors, including Vandalia Rental and Four Star Tool Rental. Huge thanks go to the Piqua City Schools and Superintendent Dwayne Thompson for assisting with the staging area logistics and allowing us to use the building as a warming station and dining hall for our parade participants.
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of our many volunteers who assisted with lining up the parade, coordinated and prepared the meal for the parade participants and generally ensured the success of the event.
Most of all, we appreciate the many thousands of people who braved the cold temperatures to come out and watch the parade and the many nice comments and notes from those who enjoyed the event.
The downtown Piqua Holiday Horse Parade has quickly become a very popular Mainstreet Piqua event and we are looking forward to bringing it to the Piqua community for years to come.
