I am writing in strong support of renewal of the levy for the Piqua library. Being a lifelong resident of Piqua, I have been the beneficiary of many of the free services the library has to offer. My children loved going down to the children’s department to attend puppet shows and participate in their fun summer reading program (as did I when I was growing
As a teacher, the local history department of the library enabled me to share letters written by Piqua soldiers from their postings around the globe during World War II that brought history to life in a very meaningful way.
Our library now provides an incredible number of free services to our community every day, including free computer use for 18,313 adults and 5,215 children last year alone.
This levy is a renewal, not an additional tax, and maintains the current local funding at exactly the same level as the original levy we passed in 2012. Please join me in supporting this wonderful community resource.
