To The Editor:
Mainstreet Piqua hosted out first-ever Downtown Piqua Holiday Horse Parade on November 12. The parade was extremely well-received by the Piqua community and there was a huge crowd in attendance.
On behalf of Mainstreet Piqua, I would like to express my deep appreciation to Tim Hutton for his many hours of dedication to the parade as the event chair. He spent literally countless hours recruiting the parade participants and figuring out the logistics for the parade.
We would also like to thank our extremely generous parade sponsors without whom we could not have had such a great event. Those sponsors include Parker’s Mobility, Family Farm & Home, Best One Tire & Service Piqua, Industry Products Co., Prestige Builders, Sunset Drive-Thru, Buffalo Wings and Rings, McDougall Marsh Land Surveyors, Wholesale Carpet Outlet, Complete Auto and Tire Service, Cathcart & Company and Lloyal and Lindsey Davis.
We also had many in-kind sponsors who played a crtical role in the production of the parade Four Star Tool Rental, Heritage Events and Catering, Cathcart & Company, Lloyd and Ed Fry and the Piqua Board of Education.
There were many individuals in addition to Tim Hutton who made the parade and the entire day run very smoothly and they include Liz Gray and family and Joe Barge.
Finally, a huge thanks to the City of Piqua and specifically the Street Department and the Piqua Police Department without whose dedication and hard work we simply could not have executed the parade in a safe and efficient fashion.
The downtown Piqua Holiday Horse parade has been added to the Mainstreet Piqua schedule of events and we look forward to hosting another successful horse parade in 2017.
