Duchak the right man for sheriff

To to the Editor:

Long time (40 years) Miami County Clerk of Courts Jan A. Mottinger comes out in support of a very qualified and dedicated gentleman who is running for Miami County Sheriff.

Chief Deputy David Duchak — Republican candidate for Miami County Sheriff:

• Started with the sheriff’s department in 1990 and advanced through the ranks of deputy, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, captain and presently chief deputy.

• Has worked with retiring Sheriff Charles Cox to bring the Miami County Sheriff’s Department where it is today — “one of the best in Ohio.”

As Miami County Clerk of Courts of the Common Pleas Court and Miami County Municipal Court, I have daily contact with a lot of Miami County Sheriff’s deputies and I can assure you that the morale of the sheriff’s department is great and that Miami County is very lucky to have a sheriff’s department that is very qualified from Chief Deputy David Duchak all the way down to the last deputy hired.

I have served Miami County for 40 years as Miami County Clerk of Courts (and continue to serve as Clerk of Courts), nine years as mayor of Bradford, 50 years (25 as chief) of Bradford Fire & Rescue and three years in the US Army 101 St Airborne as a paratrooper.

I have seen a lot of elected officials come and go over the last 40 years and I believe that Chief Deputy David Duchak is the most qualified candidate for Miami County Sheriff.

I, Jan A. Mottinger, Miami County Clerk of Courts, Thank you for all of your support over the last forty (40) years and I am again asking for your support to join me in voting for Chief Deputy David Duchak for Miami County Sheriff.

— Jan A. Mottinger
