March 18

FAILURE TO COMPLY: A deputy attempted to stop the listed vehicle for an equipment violation at State Route 55, Casstown. The vehicle did not stop initially and crossed the county line into Christiansburg where it pulled down a side street and two male passengers ran from the vehicle. At the conclusion of the stop, both males were arrested on obstructing and drug charges, the female driver and female passenger were charged with obstructing, and the female driver was cited for failure to comply, speed, fictitious registration and failure to reinstate.

March 19

BURGLARY: A deputy was dispatched to the 6500 block of Lefevre Road, Elizabeth Twp., on a burglary complaint. The complainant stated that sometime between the hours of 10 a.m. on March 18, 2016 and 7:45 p.m. on March 19, 2016 someone had broken into an attached garage at the listed address.

March 20

OVI: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on the listed vehicle for a traffic violation. After investigation, the driver Alisha Marshal was arrested for OVI.

OVI: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for a stop sign violation at Lincoln Avenue and W. Market Street, Troy.The deputy made contact with the driver who was identified as the defendant Da’Sean C Lewis. After further investigation, Mr. Lewis was found to be driving under suspension and was under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody.

March 22

FOUR WHEELER CHASE: A deputy observed three four wheelers sitting in a field next to Sullivan Road in Tipp City. The deputy spot lighted the four wheelers and their riders and activated overhead lights. The three four-wheelers took off in a separate direction. The deputy pursed a white/blue Yamaha until the driver became trapped in the entrance of Five River Metro Park on U.S. Rt. 40. Two of the three operators were arrested and incarcerated. Christopher Harris, 30, of Dayton, and David Ditmer-Brophy, 25, of Dayton were incarcerated for failure to comply and criminal trespassing.

A GoPRo was taken as evidence. David was wearing the GoPro while being pursued by law enforcement. David stated that the camera was not recording at the time he was being pursued. The camera was booked into evidence.

MOTORCYCLE ISSUE: A deputy was traveling on Wood St., near Downing Street in Piqua behind the listed motorcycle. There was no registration on the motorcycle and its hazard lights were on. The deputy activated emergency lights and stopped the motorcycle behind Piqua Battery. The driver, identified as Bobby J. Sweet, was given the reason for the traffic stop. He stated he had yet to transfer the title to his name, which is why there was no registration. The deputy asked if he had a motorcycle endorsement and he stated he did not. He stated he was on his way to Bushnell’s to get some work done on the motorcycle. Piqua Battery allowed Bobby to park the motorcycle on their property until he and friend could pick the bike up. He was cited for no registration and no motorcycle endorsement.

K9 ASSIST: A deputy assisted Clayton PD by walking K9 Bear through Northmont school for a drug sniff.

BULLET HOLE: A deputy responded to the 5000 block of Wheelock Road, Union Twp. in reference a bullet hole in an outbuilding on the property. The owners stated that today he observed a bullet hole in the side of an outbuilding on his property. The owner also stated that he knows the hole was not in the building prior to today. Both stated they did not know who was responsible for the gunshot or bullet hole. No shell casing were found on scene.

The owner further stated that he wanted the incident documented in case a future instance would occur.

DRUG OFFENSE: A deputy responded to the Miami County Jail after a corrections officer reported a drug offense.

March 23

FRAUD: Residents of Bethel Township called to file a fraud report. An unknown person has created fake checks with their account number and has been using them in the Pittsburg, Pa. area. The couple has filed a complaint with the bank and closed the account. The also requested a police report for her bank. It is unknown who the suspect is, or how they obtained the account number.

TRESPASSING: A resident in the 3000 block of Experiment Farm Road, Troy, states an unknown subject knocked over her fence post blocking and old path to the back of her property. The unknown subject (s) then drove down the path to the back of the property for “off roading”. She suspects a farmer who owns the property behind hers but had no evidence to support the accusation.

GUN SHOT: A deputy responded to the UVMC for a male that had accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun.

WARRANT: A deputy initiated a traffic stop for a stop light violation at Archer Drive, Troy. Subsequently the driver was cited for possession of marijuana. The passenger had an outstanding probation violation out of Montgomery County, that he was taken into custody for.

The evidence collected was booked into the sheriff’s office property room. The passenger, Shane Ryan, was transported to Kroger on Northwoods Blvd., where his custody was transferred to Montgomery County.
