Ducky’s, 100 W. Market St., Troy —Owner is having equipment maintained at time of inspection. Have holder or correct paper towels in restroom. Observed paper towels not in holder.
Harrison’s, 106 E. Main St., Tipp City — Observed a handle of ice scoop in ice behind the bar. The handle must be stored out of ice to prevent contamination. Observed an open bag of flour in basement. Store food in container to protect. Critical violation at time of inspection: observed soups in warmer at 131-134 degrees Fahrenheit. Soups reheated at 165 or higher. Maintain at 135 degrees or higher to limit germ growth. Buttercup’s found at 66 degrees; store below 41 degrees. Observed trash on ground at dumpster area. Observed some gnats in dish area. Consult with pest control to eliminate.
Holly’s Cafe and Carryout, 112 W. Main St., Casstown — Observed pizza prep cooler not being used due to it not operating properly. Fix immediately/soon to ensure food will not sit out. Remove nonfood service items or papers from side of bar and kitchen entrance. Observed unnecessary flyers. Remove/organize. Clean vent hood of observed grease build-up. Observed unclean areas in ice machine. Clean when needed. Observed lights missing in dishroom. Replace lighting properly. Observed drinks for workers not designated in proper area. Designate drinks (with lid/straw) in designated area away from clean services or food.
Nevin Coppock Elementary School, 525 N. Hyatt St., Tipp City — Repeat violation: observed ice build-up in two-door freezer in the kitchen. Ice is dripping into food stored below. Observed ice on packages of buns dripped from above. Equipment must be repaired to prevent any cross-contamination. DO NOT store any food under until repaired. Observed a hole at the bottom of rusted back door. Repair to prevent any entry to pests. The stockroom is currently 86 degrees. The entry into storeroom is 94 degrees. Mechanical ventilation is needed to prevent excessive heat. Observed ice build-up around door of walk-in freezer. Gaskets haven’t been installed to seal correctly. Door is difficult to close due to ice. REPEAT VIOLATION. Repair must be made to equipment before next inspection in February due to continuous issues.
Subway, 982 W. Main St., Tipp City — Satisfactory at time of inspection.
Am. Vets #66, 10010 W. St. Route 185, Covington —Observed chemical in back area not stored properly. Store all chemicals in one area away from clean items/pop/foods. Only store in area that is not above these items. Clean out beer coolers and remove wood stands. Use only nonporous materials such as plastics. Freezer has ice build-up. Fix issue and thaw out ice.
Brittney’s Cakes, 50 S. Dorset Road, Troy — Satisfactory at time of inspection.
Broadway Elementary School, 223 W. Broadway St., Tipp City — The one-door freezer has ice dripping in back of freezer. A pan is collecting water at this time. Observed broken floor tiles at floor of walk-in freezer.
Covington Elementary School, 707 Chestnut Street, Covington — Operation in good condition at time of inspection.
Los Pitayos, 2317 W. Main St., Troy — Deep clean cutting board to remove stained area. If that does not work resurface or replace. Ice scoop observed in ice machine. Store scoop in clean area, not in ice machine. Replace faucet at handsink in kitchen area. It is leaking and loose. Replace damaged gasket on walk-in cooler door.
Tipp O’ Town Restaurant, 1150 W. Main St., Tipp City — Observed boxes of food on floor in walk-in freezer. Store all foods six inches off floor to prevent contamination. When dish machine tested, no bleach sanitizer was found in water. Repairman called immediately. The three-tank system set up. All food contact must be sanitized to limit growth. Test often. The carpet in dining room still needs replaced. Observed from working freezer/nonworking prep refrigerator outside behind facility. Dispose of unnecessary equipment.
Van Cleve Elementary School, 617 E. Main St., Troy — Satisfactory at time of inspection.
Clark’s Pizza House, 25 N. High St., Covington — Observed two containers of ice cream in freezer that belong to employees. Personal food items must be stored separate from food to prevent cross contamination. The two-door salad prep refrigerator has water standing in bottom. Repair. Critical violation at time of inspection: No hand-drying provisions found at hand sink. Towels must be provided.
Holly’s Cafe and Carryout, 112 W. Main St., Casstown — Re-inspect on pizza prep cooler. Prep cooler was functioning properly. Monitor temperatures to ensure 41 degrees or below, to limit growth of bacteria.
Wendy’s Restaurant, 1300 Archer Drive, Troy — Follow-up inspection prep coolers. Prep coolers are working properly. Ensure prep coolers maintain cold foods at 41 degrees or below. Monitor properly.
Duke Park Concession, 1670 Troy Sidney Road, Troy — Satisfactory at time of inspection. Remember to wash, rinse, sanitize every four hours.
