PLEASANT HILL — The 85th Annual Newton Fall Fair was a success for both the Newton FFA and FCCLA chapters. The individual competition winners in the FCCLA Divisions are: Baked Goods – Rilee Owens; Food Preservation – Emily Shellabarger; Home Furnishings – Emmi Fisher; Crafts – Jenna Robbins; and Flowers – Susan Davis. The overall winners placing – first: Linda Mead; second: Skyler Wilson; third: Layla Robbins

Newton 2015-2016 FFA Officers are: President – Atley King; Vice President – Emily Shellabarger; Secretary – Kristen Rappold; Treasurer – Rachel Justice; Reporter – Emily McGlynn; Sentinel – Windsor Rapp; and Student Advisor – Nick Hoover.
The evening’s activities included the band performance, Kiddie Tractor Pull and the Class Challenge. The Class Challenge was a competition between the freshman, sophomores, junior and senior classes. This year’s events were Scooter Race, Pass the Apple, Spider Web Untangle and Musical Chairs. The overall winners of the Class Challenge were the seniors. The “Kiss the Pig” contest was won by seniors Wade Ferrell and Erin Sweitzer, and teachers Mr. Gaal and Mrs. Lawrence.
