PIQUA — Freshman Elizabeth Carnanan was named student of the week by Sarah Bensman for the week of April 22 through the April 26. Bensman said, “She is one of the sweetest, most genuine students ever! She is always happy and friendly towards everyone. She participates in class and is very smart. I have never seen her angry or even slightly rude to another person. She exemplifies literally every trait of a good student.”
Carnanan is the daughter of Randy and Margaret Carnanan. Her favorite teacher is Bensman because she, “pushes me to be a better person and student.” Her favorite class is American Sign Language because it’s “fun and challenging.”
On the weekend Carnanan enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. After graduation she plans to go college, location undecided, and work somewhere in the medical field. After graduating from college, her hopes are to find a good job and start a family.
Carnanan said, “To me, being named Student of the Week is an accomplishment. It means that week I stood out for my teacher.” She enjoys playing music and running. She is part of Piqua’s track team this year, and plans to be for the rest of her high school career.
