PIQUA — Piqua Show Choir will host the PHS Show Choir Premier on Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. With this year being the premier’s 18th year, it’s allowing the chance for the little kids to have the opportunity to work with the older kids in show choir. The premier consists of only Piqua City Schools’ children who hope to accompany Piqua Show Choir when they attend PHS.

This year’s premier consists of songs such as, “Magic to Do” from the musical Pippin, “Rehab” by Amy Winehouse, “Memphis Lives in Me” from the musical Memphis, “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi, and “Survivor” from Destiny’s Child.

As Piqua Show Choir goes through each season, they internalize a piece of every song they use; for example, this year Ryan Barr and Caitlin Applegate said, “I’m a survivor, I’m not gonna give up.”

Upcoming competition dates for Piqua Show Choir are Jan. 12 at Beavercreek, Jan. 26 at Finley, Feb. 16 at Hamilton and March 23 at Wapakoneta.

Tom Westfall hopes that the show choir team, “Places as high as possible and constantly improves at every competition.”
