PIQUA — The Piqua High School Student of the Week for the week of Oct. 29-Nov. 2 is Alisah Richard. Nominated by English teacher Nick Neary for the traits of diligence and responsibility, he described her as “positive, hardworking, and responsible. She shows up, day in and day out with her best effort.” The effort he describes clearly shows throughout her schooling career since she participates in cross country, NHS, and the Interact Club.

However, her favorite subject is science, and chemistry teacher Dave Williams is her favorite teacher. Richard, daughter of John and Latisa Richard, is in 12th grade and plans on attending college after graduation with Ohio State being her preferred choice. She intends to receive a major in Veterinary Science and hopes to become a veterinarian after college.

Ultimately her aspirations are only matched by her strength of character and determination. When asked what the most important traits for success are, she said: “hard work, responsibility, and determination.” Nonetheless, she has the greatest esteem for the school that gave her these ideals in the first place: Piqua High School.

When asked what she enjoyed the most about PHS, she said, “the community and her friends.”
