PIQUA — Piqua High School graduate Travis Nees, son of football legend Bill Nees, is the newest addition to PHS staff. Nees teaches four periods of success bound, and one period of world history.

Nees graduated from PHS in 2012 and continued his education at the University of Dayton in 2016. Right out of college, Ness worked in Mansfield for a year at a school called Madison Comprehensive.

Nees is inspired by his father and told me he decided to pursue a career in teaching because of, “the good relationships I formed with my teachers in high school.” He stated that he would like to give his students the wisdom and encouragement that his teachers gave him.

When asked what he likes to do in his free time, Nees responded by saying, “I enjoy fishing and spending time with my family and friends.”

Nees said that eventually he would love to take over head coaching if ever the opportunity arises, but doesn’t have any intention of leaving to pursue a coaching career.
