MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Board of Elections met in regular session Tuesday evening, touching on last-minute details and early voting before the Nov. 7 election.
The board allocated the use of 375 TSX touchscreen voting machines for the election.
“We, by law, have to approve these twice,” Deputy Director Luke Scott said. “The number of machines will stay the same.”
Director Bev Kendall noted that the machines had already undergone logic and accuracy testing.
Absentee and early voting is also currently ongoing. Board member Rob Long asked if there had been any issues, to which Kendall and Scott indicated there had not.
There were 1,429 absentee ballots requested by mail, and 105 absentee ballots picked up in the office. Out of the 73,041 registered voters in Miami County, approximately 538 of them had voted early at the board’s office by Tuesday evening.
