Sept. 21

OVERDOSE: A deputy responded to the 3000 block of Burton Road, Casstown, in reference to a possible overdose. After investigation, Gabe Ferguson was placed into custody on an active warrant out of Miami County for a parole violation.

TEST DRIVE: A deputy responded to the Erwin Chrysler Dodge and Jeep dealership in reference to Jesse Woods refusing to return a truck after a test drive. After speaking to Woods, he returned the listed vehicle. The Erwin dealership did not want to pursue charges.

Sept. 22

JAIL ISSUE: A deputy was dispatched to the Miami County Jail in regards to pills being found when searching an inmates property. This case is pending results from the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab.

PARK AFTER DARK: A deputy was checking John Wannemacher Park and located several juveniles at the park. Each juvenile was identified and given a warning for being in the park after hours.

Sept. 23

DRUGS RECOVERED: A deputy was dispatched to the main jail at the Miami County Sheriff’s Office on a report of an inmate alleged to have been in possession of illicit drugs. A deputy met with Lt. Upham who handed the deputy a black rubber glove that contained nine light green bar shaped tablets, identified as Alprazolam (2mg each) and a single blue pill, identified as Oxycodone Hydrochloride (30mg). The drugs were entered as evidence. The deputy obtained statements from Lt. Upham and Corrections Officer Setters. Case pending.

TRAFFIC INCIDENT: A resident in the 7800 block of Emerick Road, West Milton, called and advised sometime overnight a vehicle ran through her yard causing damage. A deputy responded to the scene and took photographs. The deputy was able to follow a fluid trail to 21 Terri Drive. The vehicle was located in the driveway with heavy damage. The suspect, Jason Johnson, could not be located. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Randy’s Towing and a hold was placed on it.

WARRANTS: A deputy responded to 8911 Horseshoe Bend Road, Newton Twp., in regards to a welfare check. Upon arrival, three subjects who reside in the residence were found to have active warrants out of Montgomery and Miami counties. The three subjects were taken into custody. The female subject who was reported missing was located, and returned to the scene to take custody of the children in the residence.

ACCIDENT: A deputy responded to an accident with injuries in front of 9892 Palmer Road in Bethel Township. A female driver and passenger were transported by Bethel EMS to Dayton Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A male driver was cited for assured clear distance ahead and released from the scene without injuries.

THEFT: The owner of a home in the 9000 block of West State Route 36, Newberry Twp., reported multiple burglaries in his unoccupied residence he is remodeling. He noticed several items missing over the past three months. He said he is missing speakers, power tools and gas cans. He checked the pedestrian door to the garage and found pry markings around the door handle.

Sept. 24

TRAFFIC STOP: A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to display registration at East Water Street, Troy. The registration was found to be expired on the vehicle. The driver was identified as Deandre Clay and his Ohio driving privileges are suspended. Clay was cited for driving under suspension and the vehicle was towed.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: A deputy was dispatched to the intersection of North Miami Street and East Keller Street in the village of Bradford on a property damage crash involving one vehicle and a fire hydrant.

Sept. 25

FOUND BINOCULARS: A passer-by reported that he found a pair of binoculars in the parking lot on the east side of the sheriff’s office. He claimed he found them on the ground near the southeast corner of the exercise yard wall. The property was entered as found property at the sheriff’s office
