Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:

Aug. 16

BURGLARY: A deputy was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Loy Road on a report of a burglary.

WARRANTS: A deputy responded out to the 7100 block of N. Bollinger Road, in Brown Twp., in reference to an assist agency. Champaign County advised that they wanted contact made with a male and female in reference to a bad check complaint that occurred in their county. A deputy made contact with the two individuals and ran them through LEADS Database. The female had an active warrant out of Montgomery County for larceny. The warrant was confirmed through dispatch, and cuffs were placed on the female. The deputy checked them for proper spacing and double locked them. The female was patted down and then transported to Huber Heights, where they took over custody and transported her to Montgomery County Jail.

Aug. 17

OPEN CONTAINER: A deputy made a traffic stop at Kerr and Peters roads for a traffic violation. Russell Turner was later cited for open container and speed.

BURGLARY: An employee of the Troy Elevator reported that unknown individuals broke into the grain elevators. While inside, the individuals climbed to the top of the silos and threw tools, paint and other items down to the ground. There was nothing found to have been missing from inside the facility. This matter is pending further investigation.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A resident in the 4100 block of Iddings Road, Union Twp., reported that his propane-powered bird cannons were damaged by an unknown person. The cannons are used to scare birds away from his grape crops at the facility. He advised that the gas hose was cut on both cannons. There were no suspects named in this matter.

STOLEN VEHICLE: A deputy responded to the Herrmann’s Service Center on a report of a missing vehicle.

FAKE MONEY: A manager at the Bradford Dollar General report a woman tried to pass a fake $10 bill and her credit card was declined.

OVERDOSE AT THE FAIR: A deputy reported he had a unresponsive male near the south gate of the fairgrounds. Upon arrival, the deputy observed Deputy Miller and Deputy Fraley treating the unresponsive male. Deputy Lade and Lt. Moore were also on scene.

The reporting deputy observed the male to have shallow breathing and Deputy Miller advised the male had a pulse. One deputy retrieved AED No. 1 out of his cruiser. The deputy administered one dose of Narcan. After administering the Narcan, Troy medics arrived on scene. The male was identified as Stephen Boardman.

Aug. 18

ACCIDENT: A deputy responded to an accident with injuries in front of 4020 McCandliss Road in Elizabeth Township, Miami County. A male motorcycle rider lost control and was ejected off his motorcycle. The male was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for minor injuries.

COMPLAINT: Lieutenant Tenant, Deputy Larger, and Deputy Thobe were dispatched to the 200 Pine Circle, Ludlow Falls, for a disorderly complaint.

Aug. 19

BURGLARY: A deputy responded to the 800 block of Loy Road after a resident called 911 to report that her residence had been burglarized. Evidence was collected on scene and will be submitted to the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab for analysis. This case is pending further investigation.

OVI: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on the listed vehicle for an expired registration. in the 2000 block of N. County Road 25-A, Troy. After investigation, the driver Marco Danner was arrested for OVI, driving under suspension, and expired registration.

Aug. 20

ASSAULT: A deputy responded to the Incarceration Facility on a report of an assault. After investigation, it was found that an inmate had assaulted another and will be charged with assault.

RV DAMAGE: A deputy responded to the 100 block of Friend Street in Ludlow Falls for a vandalism complaint. The victim reported someone used an ax to damage his motor home and left the ax at the scene. Evidence was gathered at the scene.

OVI: A deputy responded to the area of 360 Kerr Road, Tipp City, in reference to a suspicious complaint. A deputy located the person involved and he was arrested for OVI, failure to control, hit/skip and open container in a motor vehicle. The male involved was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail.

Aug. 21

FRAUD: A fraud report in the 5600 block of Union Shelby Road, Staunton Twp., was filed.

JUNK VEHICLE: A junk vehicle complaint was made in the 3500 block of State Route 718, Concord Twp.

MAIL ISSUE: A resident in the 5000 block of Fletcher Road, Newberry Twp., reported that his mail was stolen out of his mailbox. He advised that a neighbor found an empty envelope in the ditch that was addressed to him. He advised that the envelope was from a company that he had ordered parts from. There are no suspects of witnesses to this incident at this time. This matter was additionally reported to the US Postal Service for their review.

THEFT: A deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of South Range Line Road, Union Twp., address for a theft complaint.

ASSIST SQUAD: A deputy responded to the 400 block of Miami Avenue, Bradford, after someone called 911 to report her neighbor was laying on his front porch while foaming at the mouth. After further investigation, the male was found to be intoxicated and was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for further evaluation by Bradford EMS.

Aug. 22

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: A deputy came into contact with an occupied suspicious vehicle in the Stillwater Church parking lot. At the conclusion of the investigation, the male driver was charged with drug paraphernalia and failure to file registration.
