Feb. 9

JAIL ISSUE: An officer responded to the downtown jail. An inmate refused to cooperate with officials and demanded to make phone calls to his mother and lawyer. After resisting to comply with corrections staff and the deputy, the inmate was transferred to another cell. He was informed if he would stop damaging his cell, he would be allowed his phone calls.

ASSIST AGENCY: The reporting party called and requested a squad for her boyfriend in the 1200 block of Maple Street, Concord Twp. She advised he was acting weird and not talking. She was afraid he had possibly overdosed. The deputy arrived on scene and the subject was standing in the living room talking to EMS. There was no drugs or paraphernalia located. The subject did appear to be under the influence, but denied taking anything. He did agree to go willingly with the reporting party to UVMC to be checked out.

SEX OFFENDER: Vernon Auten was due for periodic verification of his last registered address and failed to report to the SORN office to do so. Case pending.

Feb. 14

OVERDOSE: A deputy responded to the 2400 block of South Dayton-Brandt, New Carlisle, in reference to an assist squad call. The caller advised a male has overdosed on heroin and she is doing CPR on him. The male was revived and transported to the hospital by medics.

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: The reporting party said he found a telephone box in his yard damaged in the 10000 block of Bradford Bloomer Road, Bradford. He has several trash bins by the box and none of them were damaged. The phone box is right next to a utility pole and there is no damage to the utility pole either. Deputies checked with a neighbor across the street but he did not see anything. Officers also had the neighbor check his vehicle to make sure he did not back into the box. The reporting party stated just a few days ago someone slashed his tires. He is requesting extra checks in the area.

K-9 DETAIL: A deputy walked K9 Bear through Bethel Middle and High schools for a drug sniff at the request of the school district.

WARRANT: A caller informed dispatch that an Amy D. Grillot was staying in the 200 block of Friends Street in Ludlow Falls. The deputy located Amy Grillot through Spillman and discovered she had an active warrant out of Miami County for failing to appear on a theft charge. The deputy responded to the address and made contact with Grillot. The warrant was confirmed through Miami County Jail. The jail requested Grillot to be summonsed due to spacing issues.

OVERDOSE: A deputy was dispatched to the 1500 block of Troy-Sidney Road, Troy, on a possible overdose of a 31 year-old female not breathing in the back yard.

SCHOOL INCIDENT: A Milton-Union High School administrator contacted the School Resource Officer about a physical fight between students. Both students were suspended from school and no criminal charges were filed.

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: An officer was dispatched to 4900 block of State Route 721 in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. The reporting party stated sometime over the last evening, someone had painted male genitalia on her porch.
