Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:

June 21

HEADPHONES: A deputy noticed the driver wearing headphones on patrol in the 8000 block of State Route 718, Newton Township.

The driver, Cory Weaver, provided his driver license and no proof of insurance. Upon running the vehicle registration through LEADS the return showed the BMV requested the registration plates to be confiscated. The driver license return showed Cory to be driving under a 12 point suspension.

The registration plates were removed and Englewood Trucking responded to tow the vehicle from the scene.

Cory was issued citations for driving with headphones, driving under suspension and possession of a suspended license.

Cory was given a ride to Tall Tales Inn in Laura. The registration plates and driver license were sent to the BMV.

BIKES FOUND: A West Milton resident found two bicycles in the ditch in front of her house, just outside of West Milton. I contacted W.M.PD. Chief Busse in reference to the bicycles possibly being stolen out of the village. The bicycles were collected and taken to W.M.P.D. for storage.

June 22

BURGLARY: A deputy was dispatched to 330 E. Vine Street in the Village of Bradford reference a burglary complaint. Danny Stocker was taken into custody for the crime and incarcerated.

PILLS FOUND: A deputy was contacted by the jail and advised they had located four pills in a plastic baggie in holding cell 102.

OVI: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on the listed vehicle for multiple traffic violations. T the registered owner William Harris was arrested for OVI, Speed, and Marked Lanes.

June 23

TOOLS GONE: A deputy responded to the1400 block of S. Forest Hill Road, Concord Twp. in reference to a breaking and entering. Tools had been taken from the detached garage and barn located on the property.

June 24

WARRANTS: A deputy observed the listed vehicle traveling east bound on State Route 41, Elizabeth Township, exceeding the speed limit. The listed vehicle turned onto Sayers Road into a driveway.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Kevin Buck. Kevin stated he does not have a valid operator license. The deputy observed Kevin to be suspended, active warrant out of Warren County, and a protection order.

While identifying the passengers of the vehicle, I identified a Devan Roush. Devan had an active protection order filed against Kevin Buck.

Devan gave deputies consent to search the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, a deputy was able to locate a small bag of marijuana and smoking pipe. The deputy read Kevin his Miranda rights and he understood and agreed to speak with me. Kevin admitted the drugs and paraphernalia was his.

Kevin was transported to Miami County Jail. Kevin was charged with violation a protection order, drug possession, drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, and speeding.

FURNITURE STOLEN: An unknown person took the patio furniture that was sitting outside of the entrance to the out patient behavioral health building on the Upper Valley Medical Center campus.

TOOLS GONE: A resident on Third Street, Laura, reported that sometime overnight, someone had gained access to his vehicle and took a bag of hand tools.

BURGLARY: A deputy responded to 9000 block of Milton Potsdam Road, Union Twp. for a burglary report.

Forced entry was made into the residence and various items were taken.

June 25

BURGLARY: A resident in the 4700 block of State Route 571, West Milton, reported unknown subject entered his locked residence while he was mowing grass and removed his two personal phone books and his wallet. He advised that the front door had a stopper and the back door had been dead bolted. He also advised that he did not see anyone at his residence while he was mowing.


After responding to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office Training Center, a deputy discovered Mr. Amburgey walking around by the range house. Mr. Amburgey was incarcerated at the MCSO Incarceration Facility for trespassing.

June 26

CAR BREAK-INS: A deputy was dispatched to Bradford on the report of several vehicles in the village that had been gone through during the overnight hours. One resident in the 300 block of E. Main Street, Bradford, called to report that her vehicle had been gone through during the overnight hours and her wallet was taken. She stated her wallet contained her driver’s license, her children’s’ social security cards, a WIC card and several other sentimental items. She stated it also had some change.

June 27

OVI: A deputy made contact with the subject’s vehicle, that was stopped in the middle of the intersection of State Route 202 and 571. At the conclusion of the investigation, the female driver was taken into custody for OVI. Blood was drawn by the staff at Upper Valley Medical Center, and charges will be pending results from crime lab.

OVI: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for a moving violation in the 4000 block of State Route 41, Troy. The deputy made contact with the driver who was identified as the defendant Caleb N White. After further investigation Mr. White was found to be under the influence of alcohol and marijuana and was taken into custody for OVI.
