May 27

THEFT: A deputy responded to the 7000 block of Lauver Road, Newton Twp. in reference a theft not in progress. At the conclusion of the investigation James Oburn was charged with theft.

THEFT: A resident in the 600 block of Barnhart Road, Troy, reports an unknown person(s) stole the listed package from her front porch on April 13, 2016. The reporting party did not elaborate on what was in the package. The package had been ordered through Finger Hut and Finger Hut requested Crabtree file a police report.

There are no leads or suspects.

May 28

DISTURBANCE: A deputy responded to a Monroe-Concord Rd., Troy, residence on a report of an underage party. The deputy spoke to the homeowner Nate Green. Mr. Green stated that they were having a graduation party and that it was winding down and he would keep it quiet. While speaking with him the officer was dispatched to a priority call of an accident with injuries just up the road. I left Mr. Green’s residence and went to the accident. Once on scene the driver was

determined to be a juvenile and intoxicated. I asked him if he came from the party I had just left and he stated no. He said that he was thinking about stopping there but kept driving past. I did not observe any underage drinking while on scene of the party. This matter is considered closed.

UNDERAGE: A deputy responded to the 5100 block of Monroe Concord Rd., Troy, on an accident with possible injuries. After investigation the registered owner was arrested for OVI, Failure to Control, Texting While Driving, Underage Consumption, and Open Container.

CHURCH THEFT: A deputy responded to the listed address in reference a theft that occurred at Shepherd’s Field Christian Church on 28 E. Cross St. Potsdam Ohio. Several items were missing from the Church.

TRESPASSING: A trespassing complaint was reported at the Ludlow Falls bridge. A large group of juveniles were observed, by the fire department, jumping into the creek. A deputy responded and found the listed juveniles in swimsuits and wet. The deputy pointed out the posted signs and checked their reading comprehension level. They were warned for violating Ludlow Falls Ordinance 106, trespassing and instructed to leave.

BUSINESS BREAK-IN: A deputy was dispatched to the 4000 block of Gibson, Tipp City, on a breaking and entering complaint. The reporting party stated someone had cut through the fence at the property and taken items from work vans. The incident occurred sometime between the hours of 1630 on May 27, 2016 and 1200 on May 28, 2016.

HORSE MISSING: A deputy was dispatched to 6215 Pisgah Road in Bethel Township in reference to a possible stolen horse.

Upon arrival, Tracy Thurman stated she believes someone had stolen her spotted rocky mountain gelding horse. Ms. Thurman said she saw it last night and within the past few hours, she noticed her gate appears to have been tampered with. Ms. Thurman said she has looked all around and cannot locate it.

OVI: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for a moving violation on S. Plum Street, Troy. The deputy identified the driver as the defendant Charles M Shepherd. After further investigation Mr. Shepherd was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody for OVI.

May 30

Accident with injury: A deputy was called out to the scene of a roll over accident in the 10000 block of Piqua-Lockington Road, Piqua at 3:40 a.m. The driver, Richard Idle, was ejected from the vehicle which then landed on top of him. Idle was extricated by Piqua Fire and flown to Miami Valley ER in Dayton. The rear seat passenger, Marie Idle, was taken to Upper Valley ER.

Lab results for Richard Idle will be subpoenaed from Miami Valley hospital and charges will be pending those results.

FLEEING AND ELUDING: A deputy attempted to stop the listed vehicle for several moving violations on West Green Road, Piqua. After emergency lights and sirens were activated the listed vehicle refused to stop and began to speed away. A pursuit was initiated and the listed vehicle later crashed at the intersection of Russia Versailles Road and State Route 48 in Shelby County. The driver, defendant Everett Booth, was taken into custody. He remains in Miami County Jail charged with third-degree felony failure to comply, failure to control, OVI and other traffic violations.
