Oct. 7

ROOFING MATERIAL FOUND : A resident stated he found a large roll of weather ice and water barrier membrane on State Route 718 at Barnhart Rd. and turned it in.

Oct. 8

ACCIDENT: On the above date, at approximately 7:39 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to State Route 201 at Ross Road in reference to a three vehicle accident. After the investigation was complete, one male driver was cited for stop sign and driving under suspension.

CELL PHONE FRAUD: A deputy was dispatched to the2000 block of Broken Woods, Troy, in reference to an identity fraud complaint. The reporting party states that sometime yesterday his AT&T account information was used to attempt to purchase new cell phones under his name. He has already contacted AT&T and they will not be billing him for the transactions. The reporting party has also changed his login credentials and asked for a report to document the incident. It is unknown at this time who used his information.

MEAT DEALERS: Deputies received a couple calls in reference to solicitors on Tipp-Cowlesville Road. The deputy was advised a white van with U.S. Beef on the side was going door to door selling meat. The deputy located the van in a driveway and made contact with the occupants. They were identified as Dalton Traum and Brandon Howard. They had a freezer in the cargo area of the van and advised they were selling meat. The deputy asked to see mobile food establishment vendor license as required by law. They were not able to produce one and was asked to stop selling meat until they could. They left the area without any further problems.

LITTERING: A deputy was dispatched to the area of Casstown Clark Road and Alcony Conover Road in Lost Creek Township, in reference a trash dumping complaint. The deputy met with the reporting party who pointed out three trash bags that had been dumped over a bridge in a creek just west of his residence. The reporting party advised he and a neighbor began cleaning up the dumped trash bags when they discovered two pill bottles with a name.

The deputy examined the pill bottles and found they were prescribed to Stephanie Maggert. The deputy photographed the dumped trash and instructed Miami County Dispatch to notify the county garage for trash disposal.

The deputy located a Stephanie Maggert and responded to her residence for questioning. The deputy located a pick up truck registered to her husband, Kevin Maggert, in the driveway. The pick up truck had similar trash bags filled with garbage in the bed of the truck.

The deputy received no answer at the residence and also attempted to make contact with the Maggerts using the listed phone numbers without success. The deputy filed one count of littering on each, Mr. and Mrs. Maggert.

TRESPASSING: On the above listed date, a deputy responded to the 8500 block of Covington Gettysburg Road, Covington, on a trespassing complaint. The reporting party stated that a dirt bike has been driving through her field. She stated that she has already made contact with the individual doing it and told him to stop. The reporting party asked the deputy make contact with him and tell him to stop. The deputy made contact with a male who was standing in the garage next to the dirt bike. The male was identified as, Karson Coning.

The deputy asked Karson if he was riding the dirt bike and he stated he was. The deputy asked him if he rode through the field across the street. He stated he did. The deputy advised him that he was being trespassed from the property and not to ride the dirt bike in the field again and advised him that the next time he will be charged with trespassing. Karson stated he understood and it would not happen again.

Oct. 9

WARRANT: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on the listed vehicle for a equipment violation on southbound Interstate 75 near mile-marker 68. Upon further investigation the driver Alexander Williams was cited for DUS and license plate light and the passenger Paul Powell was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Clark County.
