VEHICLE FIRE: A deputy responded to 450 Essex Drive, Tipp City, on report of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival Tipp City Fire and medical personnel were with the male preparing to take him to the hospital. The deputy was advised by EMS he had suffered a seizure.
The male victim was identified as Roger Dils. Mr. Dils had made it home from work and apparently began to suffer a seizure prior to exiting his vehicle. It appears he hit the accelerator, crashed through his garage door and into the living room of his home. Mr. Dils’ vehicle had gotten stuck on some shelving stopping it from going all the way into the house.
The vehicle continued to run with his foot on the accelerator causing the driver side rear tire to spin. The entire house filled with smoke from the turning tire.
Roger Dils’ son, Justin was inside the home at the time. Justin was at the other end of the home and was uninjured. Justin was able to exit the house safely and call 911. Roger was transported by Tipp City EMS. Tipp City Fire had the electric shut off to the house and propped up the garage door to help secure the residence.
INTOXICATED MALE: A deputy responded to a suspicious complaint of a male climbing a tree and being loud and yelling on the property that did not belong to him. The deputy located the male who was highly intoxicated and had already been cited by Troy Police Department for disorderly conduct at 4746 St. Rt. 718. The male continued to yell. The male was placed into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal trespassing and escape. The male was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail.
