PIQUA — Michael P. Yannucci of Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home has announced the addition of Benjamin A. Zimmerman to the funeral home staff.
Zimmerman is a native of Piqua and as a 7th grade student sought to job shadow Yannucci through his school’s job-shadowing program. This experience sparked an interest of Zimmerman to what would evolve to be a career in funeral service for him.
“Ben has had a passion for helping people and the art of embalming from his initial exposure at a young age,” Yannucci said.
Zimmerman continued his studies and course selection in pursuit of his goal to become a Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer and Certified Cremationist. During elementary and high school and on breaks from college, he would work part-time with the staff of Jamieson & Yannucci.
Zimmerman earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2014, where he was distinguished with its Embalming Award for Excellence in Applied Embalming and Embalming Theory, and subsequently served his internship with a firm in Cincinnati before accepting his current position in Piqua.
“Mr. Yannucci and his funeral home have encouraged my interest throughout the years helping me learn the breadth of what funeral service entails and its responsibilities … I’ve since learned just how fortunate this area is to have such a quality firm and staff” said Zimmerman.
