Tuck to present program

TROY — The Lincoln Community Center located at 110 Ash St., Troy, will host a presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20 by Dorothy Tuck on the American slave ancestry of Meghan Markle. Markle, a recent addition to the British royal family, following her marriage to Prince Harry has the title of Duchess of Sussex and gave birth last month to the newest royal family member, a boy named Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

Dorothy Tuck, a family historian and genealogist, has gained recent notoriety in chronicling the mixed ethnic heritage of the Duchess of Sussex. Tuck lives in Atlanta, but is from Springfield and is a member of the African-American Genealogy Group of the Miami Valley.

Photography exhibit continues at Hayner

TROY — Don’t miss your opportunity to see the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center’s 11th annual juried photography exhibit, “Through Our Eyes 2019: Life in the Miami Valley.” The show continues through June 23 and is free and open to the public.

This year’s show features 120 entries by 48 photographers. Nineteen of the pieces on display are by local youth. “Through Our Eyes 2019,” is sponsored by The Miami County Visitors & Convention Bureau, Friends of Hayner and Tipp Vision Center.
