First fish fry slated

PIQUA — The first of six Lenten fish fries at St. Mary Church, 503 W. North St. (inside Piqua Catholic School), will be held Friday, Feb. 16, from 5-7 p.m. Dinner consists of all the fish you can eat along with french fries or macaroni and cheese, cole slaw or applesauce, roll, and coffee. Baked fish will also be available. Desserts and soft drinks will be sold a la carte.

Prices are $8 for adults; $7 for seniors; $6 for children 12 and under. Carry-outs are also available for $7. The school is handicapped-accessible.

Financial report available

BRADFORD — The annual financial report of the Bradford Public Library for 2017 has been completed and is available for inspection at the Office of the Treasurer at 138 E. Main St., Bradford. For questions or other information, contact the library at (937) 448-2612.

Spaghetti supper to be held

COVINGTON — The annual Covington High School Spaghetti Supper will be held on Wednesday, March 7, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the new K-8 school cafeteria. All proceeds from the dinner will go to the Covington Schools Scholarship Fund Program.

The menu will feateure all-you-can-eat Italian spaghetti and garlic toast, as well as homemade cole slaw, dessert and a drink. The cost is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, and $3 for children under 12. Carry-out orders will be available.

The March music concert will be held in the high school gym the same evening. All community members are invited to attend both events.

In addition, the community scholarship fund drive is under way. Donations may be sent through March 23, to Karen Brackman at Covington High School, 807 Chestnut St. Suite A, Covington, OH 45318.

Hospital luncheon planned

COVINGTON — All former employees of Piqua Memorial Hospital are invited to the quarterly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. March 8, at Buffalo Jacks, 137 S. High St., Covington. Kayaking class offered

PIQUA — The Piqua Branch of the Miami County, located at 223 W. High St., will offer a kayaking class on Tuesday and Thursday, March 20 and 22. The class, which is one class, will run from 7:30-9 p.m. and is designed for beginning kayakers who want to learn the basics of the sport.

The fee is $15 for YMCA members and $20 for non-YMCA members. Class size is limited to six participants, and you must be at least 14 years of age to participate.

The class will be taught by Jeff Lange, a local kayaking enthusiast who is also a certified kayak instructor with the American Canoe Association.
