Marsh joins Wittenberg honors program

SPRINGFIELD — Clayton Marsh of Piqua is a part of the Honors Program at Wittenberg University.

Marsh, class of 2019, is majoring in German with a minor in Russian studies. He serves on the Matthies Advisory Board, a committee of honors students who will advise the director on what programs and activities should be developed or initiated for its student members.

Honors students must maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA throughout their Wittenberg career. The program culminates in independent scholarly research resulting in a senior thesis project in the student’s major area of study.

YMCA offers Santa and Me program

MIAMI COUNTY — On Dec. 14, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., the Miami County YMCA Robinson Branch is offering a fun morning of gym games and a visit from Santa. The morning will start with a bounce house, gymnastics, and sports, followed by a visit from Santa around 10 a.m.

UVMC holiday open house set

TROY — The Upper Valley Medical Center will host a holiday open house fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, in the UVMC Gift Shop adjacent to the hospital main lobby. This event is open to the community.

Special pricing will include 30 percent off seasonal items and 20 percent off general merchandise. Door prize entries and free gifts will be offered with purchases of $25 or more (while supplies last).

Holiday and gift items for all ages will be featured. Mystery grab bags will be available for $2 (while supplies last).

Proceeds from this event will benefit the UVMC Volunteer Auxiliary, which supports the hospital with a volunteer force, annual scholarships, and funding for special projects and equipment.
