Class reunion forms needed

TROY — The Troy High School class of 1977 will have its class reunion on Sept. 15-16.

The forms and money sent to classmates need to be returned to Dora Rutledge by Aug. 10.

Diabetes education program set

TROY — The Miami County YMCA is currently enrolling participants for an eight-week program on diabetes education, support and self-management.

Each session will concentrate on various topics to help participants to establish good habits and learn how to manage their pre-diabetes or diabetes symptoms. The program is designed to bring awareness and education to the community about the risk factors related to diabetes and chronic illnesses associated with diabetes.

This program is free for those who qualify through referral. It includes educational seminars, free personal training and membership with the Miami County YMCA during the program and for six months after participants graduate.

The class will be held on Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. at YMCA’s Robinson Branch in Troy beginning Aug. 22. This program is made possible through funding from the United Way.

Memorial blood drive slated

WEST MILTON — The family of former Milton-Union High School principal and coach Ed Lendenski will join the West Milton Lions Club in sponsoring the sixth annual Ed Lendenski Memorial Blood Drive on Wednesday, Aug. 2, from 3-7 p.m. in the West Milton United Church of Christ social hall, 108 S. Main St.

Everyone who registers to donate will receive the “Scouting 4 Donors — Ride with Passion, Give with Heart” t-shirt and be automatically entered in the “Scouting 4 Donors Summer Blood Drive” drawing to win an Indian Scout Sixty motorcycle. Coffee chat at Hayner

TROY —A coffee chat at Hayner will be offered from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 12, and will complement Hayner’s current exhibit, “Grandma’s Tissues: A Collection of Handkerchiefs,” which is on display through Sept. 24.

Winan’s coffee, donated. will be served along with several sweet treats. As you enjoy a cup of coffee, M. Lynn Barnes, Ph. D., dress historian, will speak about vintage cloth and clothing and Bonnie Harris-Frey, owner of Harris Jewelers, will speak about vintage and estate jewelry.

You are invited to bring vintage cloth and jewelry pieces that you would like the speakers to discuss or appraise. The event cost is $10 per person for Friends of Hayner members and those residing within the Troy City School District and $12 for those out of district. Ag meeting tickets available

TROY — The 13th annual All Agricultural Meeting & Banquet will be held Aug. 24 at the Duke Lundgard Building at the Miami County Fairgrounds.

Tickets are $5 prior to Aug. 18 and $10 at the door or after. Children 12 and under eat free and will enjoy pizza and games with Miami East FFA students. Meet the candidates, Miami SWCD voting and a silent auction and displays will be from 5:30-7 p.m. A catered meal by Lyons Catering will begin at 6:30 p.m. A guest speaker will talk from 7-7:30 p.m. and program and agency highlights will be from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
