Cameron’s Smile 5K set
PIQUA — Cameron’s wish was to go to Disneyworld. The memories from that trip buoy the family and, for six years now, his parents have kept his memory alive by organizing the Cameron’s Smile 5K Run. They want other kids who are battling a life-threatening disease to have their special wishes realized, too.
The run is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Edison Community College in Piqua. Pre-registration for $25 ends today. Runners can register at www.speedy-feet.com.
All proceeds from this event benefit A Special Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to local children, birth through age 20, who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening disorder. The 2014 race raised more than $7,000 for A Special Wish Foundation. This year, proceeds will sponsor Madison’s Special Wish.
Since 1983, ASW has granted more than 1,600 wishes. For more information regarding A Special Wish Foundation please visit www.aspecialwish.org.
