PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by the Piqua police reports.
DRUG OVERDOSE: Piqua police assisted a squad call on a report of a female who overdosed on the 800 block of Madison Avenue on April 22 at 9:37 a.m. The Piqua Fire Department took the female to UVMC. Arlene M. Ritchie, 44, of Piqua was charged with drug possession/abuse in connection with this incident.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A privacy fence was reportedly damaged on the 400 block of Downing Street on April 22.
There was a report of graffiti painted on the door and window of a church, Our Savior Lutheran Church, on the 500 block of McKinley Avenue sometime between April 19-21.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: An officer responded to the Piqua High School on a report of “inappropriate comments made by military recruiters” on April 22, according to police reports.
A male juvenile claimed there were 10-15 juveniles going to a residence on the 1900 block of Beckert Drive wanting to fight a juvenile there on April 22 at 9:45 p.m. A male suspect was warned for disorderly conduct and trespassing. Police found that there were no direct threats made to the other juvenile.
There was a report of a male who “possibly urinated while walking” on the 200 block of Miami Street on April 22 at 11:14 p.m. The male “was located and warned for urinating in public,” according to police reports.
There was a report of juveniles hiding between buildings and parked cars in the alleyway on the 500 block of Robinson Avenue on April 22 at 11:48 p.m. “They were belligerent when confronted by property, and ran prior to officer arrival,” according to police reports.
INFORMATION REPORT: There was a report of a vehicle with no plates parked outside of the Armed Forces Recruiting Center on the 900 block of E. Ash Street for a week. The report was made on April 22. The vehicle “was found to have been returned to Springleaf Lending,” according to police reports.
ASSIST CITIZEN: A resident reported a possible phone scam on April 22. The resident stated that someone claiming to be from the IRS was stating that the IRS was going to sue him.
TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Donald R. Kaeck, 56, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI after a two vehicle accident occurred in the area of S. College and South streets on April 22 at 7:16 p.m.
DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS: There was an OVI complaint on the 400 block of S. Wayne Street on April 22 at 10 p.m. The complainant stated there was an intoxicated driver leaving Ulbrich’s Market in a red pick-up truck. The area was checked, and the vehicle was not located.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of several juvenile in the roadway yelling on the 500 block of Miami Street on April 22 at 10:42 p.m. An adult stated the juveniles were playing.
TRAFFIC STOP: A male was stopped for speeding and was reportedly found to be OVI in the area of Washington Avenue and W. High Street on April 23 at 2:25 a.m. The male refused the test, and he was released to his mother. Michael F. Music, 37, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI in connection with this incident.
