PIQUA — The Friends of the Piqua Public Library will present their next event in the 2016 Library Lounge Series, Around the World. The second stop on the Friends’ global journey is called “Kiss Me, I’m Irish,” an evening of fun, food and music that will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in the lobby of the library at 116 W. High St. in the Fort Piqua Plaza.
The evening will feature Celtic dancing by the Dayton-based McGovern Ceili Dancers. The group was founded in 1999 by Shelagh McGovern, and the dancers participate in many events in Dayton and throughout Ohio, including the Dayton Celtic Festival held each year in July.
Also on tap will be a return visit by local adventurer Jerry McGlothern, a frequent visitor to Ireland, who will inform and entertain with stories of his travels.
The exciting evening is free, but admission is by ticket only. Free tickets can be picked up at the front desk of the library. Seating is limited, and the previous event was a sell out, so get your tickets early.
