Chiropractic clinic opens in Troy

TROY — Having recently earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Dr. Jeffrey Studabaker is happy to open his first practice and to be back in the area he calls home.

“I just wanted to come back to this area. It’s where I’ve always been from. I know the area and it’s a great place to make a living,” he said. “I really like Troy.”

Studabaker is a Greenville native and a graduate of Greenville High school. He received a degree in chemistry from Miami University before going on to Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo., where he earned a B.S. in Human Biology in addition to his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

“I’m just out of school,” he said. “Just came back, bought a location and remodeled, and started practicing for the first time.”

After graduating from Logan College, Studabaker made the decision to return to Ohio. He opened his first practice three weeks ago.

“There is a lot of need in this area for chiropractic professionals, I felt, so it was a really easy decision” he said.

Studabaker was drawn to chiropractic out of an early interest in medicine and science. In high school he had the opportunity to job shadow different professions, which sparked an interest in chiropractic.

“I really felt I could make the most impact in it,” he said.

Many people assume that chiropractors only treat spinal issues, but the practice focuses on the whole musculoskeletal system, Studabaker said.

“Chiropractic is really more than just the spine. It addresses all the soft tissue around that, but more so than the spine, it’s the ability to manage any joint in the body,” he explained.

The goal of chiropractic is to provide relief for back, neck, and joint pain, so Studabaker sees patients of all ages for a wide variety of reasons.

“It can be anything. Auto accidents, a sports injury,” he said. “From school age up to the back yard, still think you’re 16-years-old and doing something you shouldn’t. “

Studabaker is a member of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association, the Troy Chamber of Commerce, and the Troy Rotary Club.

Studabaker Chiropractic and Wellness Center is located at 927 N. Market St. in Troy. The clinic is open six days a week, Monday though Saturday.
