New exhibit opens

TIPP CITY — For October, the revolving display case in the Tippecanoe Historical Society Museum will feature tools used in the butchering process. For those who are not familiar with this process, there is a notebook of pictures and explanations of how things used to be done down on the farm.

The museum is on the southeast corner of 3rd and Walnut streets, Tipp City. The hours are 2-4 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, or by appointment year round, weather permitting during the winter months.

Fall Bazaar planned

MIAMI COUNTY — Koester Pavilion will be featuring a variety of vendors selling various home goods and décor, beauty supplies, jewelry and other accessories during their Fall Bazaar between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. They will also have baked goods; gently used clothing, household items and “Resident Made” items will be available for sale. Please come out and enjoy this special event as they support local vendors.

Youth recreational basketball

TIPP CITY — Register now for Tipp Monroe Community Services’ Recreational Basketball. The cost is $75 for the first child, $70 for additional children. The fee for nonresidents is $90 for all children. Registration is open until Oct. 18. Late registration for grades 3-6 will be open until Oct. 25 with a $10 late fee added. Late registration for grades 7-12 will be open until November 20 with a $10 late fee added. This program is available for residents and nonresidents. Painting memories

TIPP CITY — Come and paint a pretty sunflower while raising money for Tipp Monroe Community Services! Participants will paint on a 16”x20” stretched canvas. All supplies will be provided. No experience is needed. Step by step instructions and templates are provided. The class is taught by Tammy Sharpe and is located at the Broadway Elementary School Cafeteria on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 6-9 p.m. The cost of the class is $36 for residents and nonresidents, and $10 will be donated back to TMCS to help fund future classes.
