Tipp City PD hone driving skills

The view from the passenger-side mirror as our “suspect” vehicle is about to be “PITed” by law enforcement officers. Officers from Tipp City and Huber Heights police departments were honing their Precision Immobilization Techniques (PIT) skills on Wednesday under the supervision of Sgt. Marc Bayse of the Tipp City Police Department. The PIT maneuver may be used by law enforcement officers when it becomes necessary to directly intervene to bring a pursuit to a safe conclusion. The maneuver is highly predictable at speeds up to 45 m.p.h. Vehicles for the valuable training exercise were provided by Poling Auto Salvage and Sandy’s Towing & Recovery. ©2019 Miami Valley Today.
