Road closed

TROY — For gas main work, West Water Street between North Elm Street and North Cedar Street will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. Feb. 13 through 5 p.m. February 15.

Board reschedules February meeting

COVINGTON — The Covington Exempted Village School District Board of Education February meeting has been rescheduled from Wednesday, Feb. 20, to Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the K-8 Media Center, located in the Covington Elementary/Junior High School, 807 Chestnut Street, Covington. This is an open meeting,and the public is welcome to attend.

Offices to be closed

PIQUA — Piqua city offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18, to allow city employees to observe Presidents’ Day.

Garbage, refuse, and recycling collections will not be made on Monday, Feb. 18.

Monday through Friday collections will be one day late the entire week, with pick up on Saturday, Feb. 23, for Friday’s collection.

The city urges all customers to place their containers at their usual collection points the evening before for early pick-ups the following day.

Buckeye Distillery, TMCS host talk

TIPP CITY — Buckeye Distillery, a family-owned distillery in Tipp City, will discuss how they distill liqueurs and vodka at a free event at the Tipp City Library on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and is co-hosted by Tipp Monroe Community Services.

Samples of mixed drinks and food prepared with their liqueurs will be available. Participants must be 21 or older to attend. There is no charge for this event. Please visit tmcomservices.org or tippcitylibrary.org to register.

Y offers Presidents’ Day camp

PIQUA — The Miami County YMCA will be heading to 36 Skate in Piqua this Presidents’ Day.

This event will take place on Feb, 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with pick up and drop off at both the Piqua and Robinson branches for youth in grades kindergarten through sixth grade.

The day will start by playing games at the Youth Center at the Piqua YMCA, lunch (bring a packed lunch), and then skating at 36 Skate. Pre-Registration by Feb. 17 is encouraged. Register at either branch or over the phone at 773-9622 or 440-9622. The cost of the event is $20 for YMCA members and $26 for non-members.
