Piqua police reports highlights


PIQUA — All information is provided by Piqua police reports.

ACCIDENT: A driver struck a pole in the area of South Sunset Drive and Covington Avenue on Nov. 17 at approximately 8:35 a.m. The driver was cited with failure to control.

DISTURBANCE: A neighbor dispute turned into neighbors claiming the other had displayed a firearm on the 700 block of West Water Street on Nov. 17 at approximately 11 a.m. There were no third party witnesses, and both subjects claimed to not have a firearm. Both subjects were warned.

A male subject reported an employee at a business had a gun and threatened them with it on the 8700 block of North County Road 25-A at Nov. 17 at approximately 1 p.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A complainant advised his vehicle was shot with a BB gun on the 400 block of Y Street. It occurred sometime between Nov. 9-17. There were several round marks located on the vehicle.

CHILD ENDANGERING: An officer responded on the report of a child being struck in the face by a parent on Nov 17 at 5:10 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: An intoxicated male subject was reportedly having a difficult time walking on the sidewalk in the area of North Downing and West Ash street on Nov. 17 at approximately 7:40 p.m. An officer made contact with the male subject and advised him that he should walk home instead of going to another establishment. The male subject was released, and he walked home.

THEFT: A subject was in the movie theater when he returned to his vehicle and found his backpack was missing at Cinemark on Nov. 17 at approximately 11 p.m.

A manager at Speedway reported a theft by a former employee on Nov. 19 at approximately 1:30 p.m.

ASSIST SQUAD: There was a report of a one-year-old not breathing on the 1900 block of Covington Avenue on Nov. 18 at approximately 8 a.m. The child was breathing on officer arrival and transported to UVMC.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A stolen cell phone was located at Kroger at Nov. 18 at approximately 2 p.m. The investigation is pending.

ANIMAL PROBLEM: A complainant advised that she was bitten by an unknown dog while walking up onto her porch on the 500 block of Electric Avenue on Nov. 18 at 3:10 p.m.

FOUND PROPERTY: A bicycle was found along the bike path near Echo Lake Drive and Canal Run on Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

A bicycle was found on the 1500 block of Madison Avenue on Nov. 19 at 8 a.m.

SUSPICIOUS: Police responded to a call referencing a window being broke out of a vacant house and possibly being burglarized on the 1200 block of South Street on Nov. 19 at approximately 11:45 a.m. Upon arrival, the complainant stated they were not sure if it was burglarized but wanted to report the incident.

HIT SKIP ACCIDENT: A semi-truck struck a fire hydrant while turning out of a business on the 1800 block of West High Street on Nov. 19 at 2:20 p.m. The truck left the scene of the accident without reporting the accident.

INFORMATION REPORT: Police responded to a call referencing a female who opened a Facebook link on accident which showed sexual photos of an underage individual on Nov. 19.

BURGLARY: Police responded to a call referencing a burglary at a residence on the 400 block of South Downing Street on Nov. 19 that happened sometime between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. The victim stated multiple items were stolen from the residence. The victim was able to provide suspect information. This investigation is pending.
