Possible credit card skimmers found at gas station

PIQUA — There was a report of possible credit card skimmers being found at the Sunoco gas station on Monday.

According to Piqua police reports released on Thursday, the Piqua Police Department responded to a fraud complaint at the Sunoco gas station, located at 8855 North County Road 25-A on Monday, Oct. 29, at 1:30 p.m. The caller advised they found skimmers inside gas pumps at the business. The investigation is currently pending.

According to the Piqua Police Department, two devices were located on two of the pumps. It is unknown as to how long the devices were in the pumps at the gas station and if anyone’s card data was stolen. The devices are being evaluated at this time to see if any evidence can be retrieved from them.
