TROY — A two-vehicle accident caused one fatality and four people sustained injuries at the intersection of State Route 41 and Washington Road in Troy on Thursday.
A male subject, whose name has not been released at this time, was declared deceased at the scene, according to reports.
Troy Police Department closed the intersection shortly after the incident around 6:20 p.m.
According to reports, two vehicles, a car and a passenger van, were involved in the collision. The deceased male is reported to have been in the car, which was split into two pieces as a result of the accident.
Unconfirmed reports believe the accident was caused by one of the vehicles hydroplaning.
According to Troy Police Captain Joe Long, two MICU units were requested to transport four victims, also not yet named, to Miami Valley Hospital from Upper Valley Medical Center.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
