TROY — A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck early Thursday morning near Troy.

First responders were dispatched to the 1800 block of Nashville Road, approximately one-quarter mile south of State Route 55 around 7 a.m. on the report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

According to officers on the scene, a female was wheeling a trash container to the street when she was struck by an oncoming pickup truck.

CareFlight was requested but unable to fly due to heavy rain. The victim was transported directly to Upper Valley Medical Center, then to Miami Valley Hospital.

Her name and condition are not yet known.

The Troy Police Department is handling the investigation.
