TROY — A crash between a pickup truck and SUV resulted in injuries to the drivers on Wednesday afternoon.
An off-duty Troy police officer called dispatch to inform them that he had been involved in a crash at St. Rt. 55 and Arthur Drive just after 4 p.m. The officer, Patrolman Todd Sloan, 52, requested a medic unit to respond for injuries.
According to Capt. Joe Long, an unidentified driver of a Chevrolet Suburban Tahoe pulled out in front of Sloan and T-boned Sloan’s Ford F-250 truck. Sloan was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage with one remaining in the roadway, while the pickup truck impacted a large utility pole knocking out power to traffic lights at the intersection.
